HOW TO MANAGE YOUR TIME

Time management is hell. I honestly hate being an adult Having to manage a schedule, remember appointments, people’s birthdays, and somehow you still have to fit time to wash your ass and make sure your breath don’t smell like last week—or, last night…if you know what I mean. Anyways, I have spent quite some time coming up with a way I tend to manage my time. These five tips, are sure to keep your mind at ease…if not, oops.

* this was written before 2020 completely ruined the year and almost my life, I still stand by everything written in this post *

START YOUR WEEK ON A SUNDAY

Yes, I know the week already starts on Sunday, but if you’re like me you’re doing everything else but getting your entire week together. You have to plan out the entire week on Sunday. Sit down with yourself and plot and jot down everything that you can think of that you have to do for the the upcoming week.

I’m going to let you all in on a secret. We get every single thing done on Sunday for the blog. We write every single post we want to post for the week on Sunday. We film and edit between Saturday night and Sunday evening. Every social media post is planned for the week on SUNDAY.

You want to know why we do all of that on Sunday? It’s because, when something else comes up out of nowhere during the week—we’re not overwhelmed by all of the things we already have to do. Remember, we’re running two other brands within the Elevation Lifestyle brand. It’d be tiring to have to write posts, post on social media, respond to emails, update the store, manage new products, manage kids, make dinner every night, hug a neighbor—YOU GET THE POINT.

Lay out your entire week on Sunday, and you should be fine. Don’t plan everything down to the hour, because again, it’s life and someone is going to spill something on you.

KEEP YOUR ASS OUT OF THE HOUSE

Everyone that wants you to hang out after work, when you know good and well you have not completed all you had to do for yourself that day or that week for that matter…and it’s Wednesday. Tell, fly on your shoulder that wants to stay home NO! You need time to destress. Stress the main factor as to why people break their plans.

Stop beating yourself up for being behind in your week. Although we’re not promised tomorrow, if tomorrow does come—make plans to do what you wanted to do yesterday on the next day.

You do need to figure out your balance, though. Don’t go out every single day of the week, when you know good and well you’re trying to accomplish one thing on you list this week.

STOP OVERTHINKING, EVERY SINGLE THING.

Overthinking is the number one dream killer…don’t quote me, but I’m sure it is. Overthinking the top reason why a lot of people don’t follow their plans for the week…again, don’t quote me. Stop overthinking that presentation, pitch meeting, or hell, that business venture. I’m sure you’re going to kill it. You just have to tell yourself that you will too.

It’s crazy how our brain works. If we continuously tell ourselves that this sucks or this is not going to work, or the number one cop out excuse I don’t think it’s the right time for this right now, you will never succeed at defeating your mind. Remember, our brains are the most powerful tool we have in our arsenal. Manipulate them negative thoughts. Take the ‘T’ from can’t and throw that hoe in the trash.

Remember, the only thing the other person can tell you is No. If you tell yourself that, you’ll be good. This leads me to my next point…

PLOT ON THESE FOLKS FOR NEXT WEEK

Everyone needs a section of their planner, called ‘PLOTATION.’ We all at some point during the week hear the words No from someone. I have learned how to maneuver the ‘No’ and turn it into a future ‘YES’ cause remember a NO, is just a future YES…I’m like Gandhi with these tips.

If you come at your want from a different angle the next week, or the week after, I can almost assure that you’ll accomplish that hard to reach goal on your list. Now, if you’ve pitched said idea multiple times and haven’t revised nor grew from the last pitch or made strides in your week to accomplish said task…you deserve the follow up No. Also, consider that your want may actually be a bad idea and go rework that idea. Okurrr?

We have to plot on folks in 2020, keep them in your planner. Make strides to reaching your plotation goals. I can count all the times, I had a goal set on my phone, but I remember being told no, so I had to walk out the room with my petty smirk saying to myself Ok, I’ll be back on this topic tomorrow. I spend that night revising my want and next thing you know, I got what I want. We are about YES’s at Elevation Lifestyle. We don’t know that girl named No. Who’s she?

REMEMBER, IT’S YOUR WEEK NOT SOMEONE ELSE’S

This tip is a given. Remember at the end of the day, it’s your week. No one else controls your week…well, if you’re a die hard…you know what never mind. At the end of the day, you are in control of the things you want to do in your week.

Start planning your week with attainable life and work goals. Then, when you get your footing and realize the mastery of manifestation and how the universes works. I’m telling you, you’re going to kill the game.

The key takeaway is, to stop freaking saying CAN’T. Some people might have noticed that I very rarely say the word can’t, unless I know i absolutely can not show up to film Aaron and Aaliyah high ( pause for laughter ) but, I’ve managed to ween that word out my diet, cause at the end of the day, you can do anything you set you mother-trucking mind to.
